Exercises for developing fine motor skills

Fine motor skills are directly related to the development of speech, attention, and thinking. Therefore, it is important to devote time to this every day, not only during classes at the center, but also at home.
Simple exercises that can be done with your child at home:
  •  Sorting small objects – transferring buttons, beans, or grains from one container to another with a spoon, tweezers, or fingers.
  • Laces – threading laces through holes (special toys or even ordinary cardboard figures with holes).
  • Plasticine or dough – rolling balls, sausages, pinching off pieces, kneading.
  • Clothespins – fastening and unfastening clothespins on a box or cardboard.
  • Fastening/unfastening – buttons, zippers, Velcro (you can practice on clothes or special trainers).
  • Finger painting – on sand, semolina, cream, or paints.
  • Assembling puzzles and construction sets – stimulates coordination and fine motor skills.
Such simple games not only help develop fine motor skills, but also foster independence in everyday skills.
