The first signals parents should pay attention to
Every child develops at his or her own pace. But sometimes some developmental features may indicate that a child needs additional attention and support. This is not a sentence – it is a point from which to start the developmental journey
Here are some early signals that may indicate special educational needs:
Speech
– does not speak at an age when others are already actively communicating
– has difficulty forming phrases or repeating the same thing
– does not understand simple instructions
Motor skills
– difficulty with coordination, slow development of fine motor skills
– cannot button hold a pencil or spoon
– often stumbles or falls
Behavior and perception
– avoidance of contact (visual or physical)
– excessive sensory sensitivity or indifference
– difficulty adapting to new places, people or situations
– strong emotional reactions to minor changes
If you notice these signs, do not wait for him to “outgrow”. A timely visit to specialists is a chance to give your child what he or she really needs.
At the World of Opportunities Inclusive Center, we help children with SEN to reach their potential every day – step by step, with love and support.
