World Day of People with Down Syndrome

On March 21, the world celebrates Down Syndrome Day, a day when we talk about acceptance, love and equality.

Why this date?
Down syndrome is caused by the presence of a third copy of the 21st chromosome, so symbolically this day is 21.03

What do we want to say?

  • People with Down syndrome are not a diagnosis, but individuals with their own talents, dreams and desires.
  • They can study, work, make friends, love – just like the rest of us!
  • The main thing for them is support, acceptance and equal opportunities.

What do we prepare at our center?

  • A creative master class dedicated to the symbol of the Day – bright socks (socks of different colors – a symbol of the uniqueness of each person).
  • A conversation with children about the importance of friendship and acceptance.
  • Flash mob: “I support people with Down syndrome” – everyone can take a photo in colored socks and post it on social media with the hashtag #LotsOfSocks
