5 Effective Steps to Boost Your Child’s Self-Esteem
09.05.2026
At the “World of Opportunities” Inclusive Center, we often see how a child changes when they feel, “I can do it.” This has nothing to do with physical limitations. It depends on whether their efforts are recognized, not just the result
Self-confidence is not an innate trait, but a skill that can be developed. At the “World of Opportunities” Inclusive Center, we integrate these principles into every session:
- Praise effort, not talent. Instead of “Good job,” say, “I can see how hard you worked on this drawing.”
- Give them the right to choose. Even in small things: which T-shirt to wear or which game to play first. This gives them a sense of control over their own lives.
- Avoid comparisons. The only appropriate comparison is the child today with the child yesterday.
- Entrust them with manageable responsibilities. The feeling of “I am useful” incredibly boosts self-esteem.
- Create opportunities for success. Choose tasks that your child can handle, gradually raising the bar.
Remember: you are the main source of strength for your little one. And we at the “World of Opportunities” Inclusive Center are always ready to provide professional support along this journey
