What early intervention is

Comprehensive support for young children who have developmental difficulties, are at risk of them, or need additional support. The focus is not only on the child but on the family and its daily life: specialists help find practical solutions during play, communication, meals and walks.

Reach out if your child

  • has difficulty with speech or communication
  • has difficulty with movement or coordination
  • has sensory processing differences
  • is not gaining age-appropriate skills
  • finds play and interaction with others difficult
  • has difficulty with self-care
  • has behaviour, feeding or sleep differences
  • was born prematurely or has other risk factors

There is no need to wait until difficulties become more obvious: you can come with your very first questions.

The team

A psychologist, a social worker and a physical therapist work together with the family.

Documents

The list depends on your family's situation. For the first contact just get in touch; bring medical reports or test results to the consultation if you have them.

How early intervention works

1. Getting to know the family

We discuss your request and learn about the child, their development, strengths, difficulties and the family's daily life.

2. Assessment

Together with the parents, the team identifies the needs of the child and family, the child's strengths and the situations that need extra support.

3. Priorities and goals

Together we decide which changes matter most for the child and the family.

4. Individual family plan

We set goals and support measures based on the child's needs and the family's priorities.

5. The team works with the family

Specialists help parents find practical ways to support the child's development in ordinary daily situations.

6. Monitoring results

We track changes, discuss results with the family and revise goals and further support when needed.
